introduction
The lighting film on New Penzance Island, New England, 12-year-old orphan Sam Shakusky is attending Camp Ivanhoe, a Khaki Scout Summer Camp headed by Scout Master Randy Ward. Suzy Bishop, 12 years old, lives on the island with her parents Walt and Laura, both lawyers, and her three younger brothers in a house named Summer's End. Sam and Suzy, both introverted, articulate and mature for their generation, met in the summer of 1965 during the church performance of Noye's Fludde and became pen pals. During their correspondence, the relationship becomes intimate, and they make a secret pact to reunite and run away together. They were working out their proposal in September 1965. Sam is running away from Camp Ivanhoe while Suzy is running away from Summer's End. A pair of encounters, hikes, hunting, and fish in the woods with the goal of finding a secluded bay on the island ( Myers, 2014).
The iconic scenes I chose is from 18:52 to 20:00 when Sam get into the dressing room the room was full of lights and he met Suzy for the first time he asked her what kind of bird are you “sparrow” said she is a dove and he repeats his question what kind of bird are ”you” at that time sam falls in love with Suzy. the scenes theme are ”first meeting” and the lights
I chose this theme because the movie theme is about Suzy and Sam relationship and yellow as a film colour, which all the lights were yellow. After all, is yellow often a colour of optimism in the films of Anderson, which is apparent in the uniforms of the scouts in this film.
I highlighted the architectural perspectives elements such as
furniture, people and lighting scope
